Meet Denise

BA Hons, DipNT, mBANT, mNTOI

Hi there! My name is Denise Dalton, and I'm thrilled to welcome you to ElevateSPHE. My journey into the field of health and wellbeing began in the classroom, where I discovered my passion for fostering young people's personal, social, and emotional development. This passion led me to a enter the role as a Health and Wellbeing Advisor with the PDST, where I had the unique opportunity to scale my impact nationally for over six years.

Throughout my career, I've been deeply involved in designing and implementing professional development for both Junior and Senior Cycle SPHE. My work has spanned areas such as Mental Health, Substance Use, Relationships and Sexuality, and Personal Safety. It has been an honour to support hundreds of post-primary school leaders and teachers across the country, equipping them with the skills to make a profound difference in the lives of students.

I'm also proud to be the co-author of the "You've Got This!" series of Junior Cycle SPHE textbooks. Our aim with this series—and our upcoming Senior Cycle resources—is to provide robust support to teachers as they navigate the complexities of imparting these crucial life skills to our younger generations.

In addition to my post primary educational endeavours, I am a registered Nutritional Therapist.

I am dedicated to assisting school leaders and teachers in building a positive relationship with food, aiming to boost their energy, mood, concentration, and memory through evidence-based nutritional and lifestyle strategies. My objective is to empower educators to thrive not only in their teaching career, but also in their physical and emotional wellbeing.

Thank you for visiting the ElevateSPHE site. I look forward to partnering with you to elevate the standard of health and wellbeing education in your school.
